Really good service and elegant rooms!
spacious room freestanding bath perfect location
The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. It had a lovely freestanding bath. The location was perfect. Everything was within walking distance. The staff offered great recommendations and were super friendly!
I experienced slightly slow service in the Spence. I waited an extended time for my coffee to be served. This affected the temperature when it arrived.

attentive staff rooftop bar amazing atmosphere late course credit card charge
The staff were excellent and very attentive to detail. Ewan welcomed us warmly, showing us to our Town Room. The rooftop bar, Lamplighters, had an amazing atmosphere and great cocktails.
I booked dinner for 19:30, but received a text saying my table was booked for 17:30. It needed to be changed. Our main course arrived at 21:30. They charged £25 on my credit card without explanation.

lovely and thoughtful stay
wonderful staff good food fascinating history immaculate hotel
the staff showed wonderful attention to detail. every little thing they have thought of makes the stay better.. the food is fabulous and good value. i don't believe they are ripping you off. the history of the building is fascinating. the hotel itself is immaculate. i would recommend a future stay.
i noticed only one spa room, so it was hard to make appointments.

the breakfast was good..
i was quite annoyed that the bathroom amenities were in the bedroom, not the bathroom itself. it's a strange layout and not very functional when you're trying to get ready.

amazing architecture perfect location easy walks
The building has amazing architecture. The owners clearly put a lot of thought into providing everything we needed. The location is perfectjust a short walk from attractions. It is close to places like Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood, restaurants, and bars.
I experienced a small inconvenience . The rooftop bar was closed for a private event. This limited my options for evening relaxation. I hope this is communicated better in the future.

The building is beautiful with a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially in the members' lounge where we watched rugby. The team. It was a great experience overall.
